Assam LP and UP Teacher Recruitment 2025 : Online applications are invited through the official website of the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, from eligible Indian citizens who have qualified the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The recruitment is for the following positions:

• 2900 vacancies for Assistant Teachers in Lower Primary (LP) Schools.
• 1600 vacancies for Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers in Upper Primary (UP) Schools.

Important Details of Assam LP and UP Teacher Recruitment 2025

Pay Scale:

• Pay Band (PB-2): Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/-
• Grade Pay and other allowances as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019.”

Age Limit:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age:
  • Unreserved category: 40 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 42 years
  • OBC/MOBC: 43 years
  • SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 45 years
  • Persons with Disability (PwD): 50 years
• Age will be calculated as of 1st January, 2025.

Online Application:

• Opening Date: 3rd March, 2025 at 10:00 AM
• Closing Date: 31st March, 2025 at 05:00 PM

Selection Process : The Selection of the candidates shall be strictly in order of merit considering the reservation for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PWD etc.

Important Notes:

1. Regular teachers currently working in LP Schools under DEE, Assam are not eligible to apply for any posts in LP Schools.
2. A candidate can apply for only one post with a particular ATET/CTET Roll Number.

Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria of Assam LP and UP Teacher Recruitment 2025

Essential Qualifications & Marking/Weightage for Assistant Teacher (Lower Primary School):

1. Essential Qualifications:
   • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
   • 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or Diploma in Education (Special Education).
   • Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary with at least 85% marks.
2. Maximum Total Marks: 100
3. Additional Eligibility Notes:
   • Candidates with Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary are also eligible to apply. However, no marks will be allocated for Graduation.
   • Candidates having Not Clear (NC) status in any qualification will not be eligible to apply.
   • Betterment/Improvement of Marks: Only the first betterment exam will be considered, and it must be in the same subjects originally taken by the candidate.
   • Reservations: There shall be reservations for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen, etc., as per the existing Government rules.

Essential Qualifications & Marking/Weightage for Various Upper Primary Teaching Posts:

1. Assistant Teacher for Upper Primary Schools:

• Essential Qualifications:
  1. Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 5% marks secured in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or equivalent examinations.
  2. Graduation with 5% marks secured in Graduation. If the candidate has a Major in any subject, marks in the Major subject will be considered.
  3. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or D.Ed (Special Education).
  4. 80% marks secured in Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary Schools.
• Maximum Total Marks: 100

2. Science Teacher for Upper Primary Schools:

• Essential Qualifications:
  1. Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 5% marks secured in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or equivalent examinations.
  2. B.Sc. degree from a UGC-recognized University with 5% marks secured in Graduation. If the candidate has a Major in any subject, marks in the Major subject will be considered.
  3. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or D.Ed (Special Education).
  4. 80% marks secured in Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary Schools.

3. Hindi Teacher for Upper Primary Schools:

• Essential Qualifications:
  1. Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 5% marks secured in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or equivalent examinations.
  2. Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from a UGC-recognized University with 5% marks secured in Graduation. If the candidate has a Major in Hindi, marks in the Major subject will be considered.
  3. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or D.Ed (Special Education).
  4. 80% marks secured in Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary Schools.
• Maximum Total Marks: 100

Note:
The Non-Essential Qualifications for both Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) Schools (including Science Teachers and Hindi Teachers in Upper Primary Schools) will be the same.

Non-Essential Qualifications (Additional Weightage):

1. NCC Certificate: 5 marks for “C” Certificate, 3 marks for “B” Certificate.
2. Sports Achievements: 5 marks for participation/achievement in recognized sports at the National Level or beyond, representing the State or Nation.
3. Fine Arts and Cultural Activities: 5 marks for participation/achievement in recognized Fine Arts and Cultural Activities, representing State or Nation at National Level or beyond (organized by recognized institutions).
