Coal India Limited (CIL) invites ONLINE APPLICATIONS from young and energetic individuals for the post of Management Trainee in E-2 grade across various disciplines. The selected candidates will be responsible for contributing to the improvement of operational and financial performance of the company in a sustainable manner. Selection will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

Age Limit for Coal India Limited Management Trainee
◾ The upper age limit is 30 years as of 30-Sep-2024 for General (UR) and EWS candidates, with the following relaxations:
Ex-Servicemen (ESM): As per Govt. of India guidelines
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
SC/ST: 5 years
Persons with Disabilities:
General (UR): 10 years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 13 years
SC/ST: 15 years
◾ Candidates in their final semester/year/trimester of the 2024-25 session can apply, but must submit their final pass results during document verification or before final selection.
◾ Candidates must clear all final year/semester/trimester subjects in a single attempt in the 2024-2025 academic year and have cleared all previous years/semesters/trimesters as on the date of declaration of final results.
◾ Final-year students (2024-2025) must upload their latest available mark sheet/marks transcript of the relevant minimum educational qualification.
Selection Process for Coal India Limited Recruitment
Selection will be based on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Online Test (CBT) only.
- Duration: 3 hours
- Two papers: Paper-I (General Knowledge) and Paper-II (Professional Knowledge)
- 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in each paper
- Each question carries 1 mark, no penalty for wrong answers
- Qualifying marks:
- UR/EWS: Minimum 40 marks in each paper
- OBC (NCL): Minimum 35 marks in each paper
- SC/ST/PwD: Minimum 30 marks in each paper
Application Fees For Coal India Limited Recruitment for Management Trainee
- Candidates belonging to GENERAL (UR) / OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS category are required to pay a Non-Refundable fee of ₹. 1000/- plus applicable GST – ₹.180/- totaling ₹. 1180/- (Rupees One Thousand One Hundred Eighty only)
- Exempted: SC, ST, PwBD candidates, and Coal India Limited employees
- Payment mode: Online only
- The fee can only be paid online.
Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will be placed as Management Trainees in E-2 Grade in the scale of pay of ₹. 50,000 – 1, 60,000/- at the initial Basic of ₹. 50,000/- per month. Upon successful completion, they will be regularized in E-3 Grade in the scale of pay of ₹. 60,000 – 1,80,000/- at the initial Basic of ₹. 60,000/- with probation for 1 year, if not extended. In addition to basic pay, they will be entitled to:
- Dearness Allowance
- HRA
- Perquisites and allowances
- Performance Related Pay (PRP)
