The Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare (TTWD) functions as the key implementing body under the Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare Department, Government of Assam. It oversees a wide range of welfare schemes aimed at supporting the Tea Tribes and Adivasi communities. These initiatives include scholarships for school and college students, skill development and entrepreneurship programs, start-up grants for self-employment, and financial aid to women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs), among others.

In a move to simplify the process and reduce paperwork, the Directorate introduced an online application system—SIRISH Portal—starting from the financial year 2020–21. This digital platform has made applying for support faster, more transparent, and more accessible for all stakeholders.
