NERIWALM Recruitment 2025: The North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management (NERIWALM), Tezpur, Assam, a premier organization under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, has issued an employment notification inviting online applications for 13 contractual positions under the project titled:
“A Comprehensive Study on Sustainable Development of Irrigation Sector of Assam”
This multidisciplinary initiative focuses on Water Resource Management, Irrigation Engineering, Agriculture, Soil & Water Conservation, and the use of spatial tools like GIS and Remote Sensing.

NERIWALM Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria & other details
1. Consultant (03 Posts)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Essential: Retired officers of at least Additional Chief Engineer rank or domain experts with experience in:
- Irrigation Engineering
- Agricultural/Irrigation & Drainage Engineering
- Remote Sensing, GIS & Space Tech related to water & land resources
- Desirable:
- Strategic project planning & design
- Irrigation policy expertise, scheduling, budgeting, and spatial modeling
- Satellite data interpretation, multi-stakeholder coordination
- Report writing, presentation, and QA skills
Remuneration:
- Total Honorarium: ₹ 8,00,000 for entire contract duration (6 months)
- TA/DA: As per Level-12 of GoI for up to 6 visits + project-related travel
Contract Duration: 6 months (co-terminus with final report submission)
Age Limit: Between 50–70 years
2. Young Professional (05 Posts)
a) Water Resource Engineering (03 Posts)
- Essential: Master’s in Water Resource Management / Irrigation & Drainage / Geoinformatics
- Desirable: 1+ year experience and proficiency in QGIS/ArcGIS/EQIPA
b) Agriculture (01 Post)
- Essential: Master’s in Agronomy / Soil Science / Soil Chemistry / Irrigation Water Management
- Desirable: Experience in crop planning, irrigation command, field demonstration
c) Social Science (01 Post)
- Essential: Master’s in Sociology / Social Work / Political Science / Economics / Geography
- Desirable: Experience with PRA/RRA/Delphi/irrigation management
Remuneration:
- ₹ 45,000/month
- TA/DA: As per Level-7 of GoI
Contract Duration: Initially 6 months, extendable to 8 months maximum
Age Limit: 21–35 years (as of application closing date)
3. Field Assistant (05 Posts)
Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in:
- Civil Engineering
- Agricultural Engineering
- Agriculture Science
- Social Sciences
- Desirable: Skills in GIS (QGIS/ArcGIS/EQIPA), survey tools (PRA/RRA/Delphi), and relevant field research
Remuneration:
- ₹ 26,000/month
- TA/DA: As per Level-5 of GoI
Contract Duration: Initially 6 months, extendable up to 8 months
Age Limit: 21–35 years
