Eligibility and Educational Qualification of IOCL Recruitment 2025 for Assistant Quality Control Officer

Educational Qualification Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent disciplines) from recognized Indian Universities/Institutes through regular full-time mode.
  • Equivalent disciplines in M.Sc. in Chemistry include:
    • Inorganic, Organic, Analytical, Physical, Applied, and Industrial Chemistry.
    • Other branches (e.g., Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Toxicology, Food Technology) are not considered.
  • Minimum Marks Required:
    • General/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates: 60% in the qualifying degree.
    • SC/ST/PwBD candidates: 55% in the qualifying degree.
  • Full-Time Regular Course Only: Only degrees obtained through full-time regular courses are eligible.

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum 2 Years of Experience in any of the following:
    • Testing/R&D/Quality Control in Petroleum, Petrochemical, Polymer, or Fertilizer Unit Laboratories.
    • Experience in an NABL accredited laboratory (Chemical discipline) in the field of testing (Lubricants/Petroleum and Products).
    • Note: Experience from mechanical, electrical, biological labs, etc., will not be considered.
  • Relevant Experience:
    • Only experience gained after the declaration of results for the qualifying degree will be considered.
    • Experience as a trainee (summer/winter projects, etc.) or before obtaining the qualifying degree will not count.
  • Non-relevant Experience:
    • Teaching and research experience in academic institutes will not be considered relevant.

Selection Method for IOCL Vacancy for Assistant Quality Control Officer

The selection process consists of three stages: Computer-Based Test (CBT), Group Discussion/Group Task (GD/GT), and Personal Interview.

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT):Format: Objective type, with 135 questions (1 mark each).

  • Duration: 120 minutes.
  • Languages: The CBT will be conducted in English and Hindi.
  • No Negative Marking: No penalty for wrong answers.
  • Session: The CBT may be conducted in multiple sessions. If so, score normalization will be applied.
