GMCH Assam Recruitment for 2 Vacancies (Govt job in Assam, Guwahati): The Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) has issued an employment notification inviting applications for contractual positions under the prestigious “Targeting Zero Dose Immunization Challenges of Assam (TICA)” project. This initiative, funded by the Gates Foundation and implemented by the Government of Assam, is dedicated to achieving universal immunization coverage across the state.

GMCH Assam Recruitment 2025: Post Details
1. Communication/Media Expert
- Location: Guwahati, Assam
- Tenure: Contractual, until 3rd March 2027
- Remuneration: ₹100,000 – ₹125,000 per month
- Age Limit: Below 60 years
- Engagement Type: Full-time
Eligibility Criteria:
- Ph.D./Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Public Relations, or Social Sciences
- Minimum 10 years of experience in health sector communication
- Prior experience in behavioural and social change communication
- Strong media portfolio and field research experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, digital tools, and media monitoring
- Knowledge of Assamese or other local languages is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Design strategic communication campaigns on immunization
- Develop Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) and Risk Communication strategies
- Translate public health data into culturally relevant messages
- Develop content across print, digital, and broadcast media
- Engage with media, NGOs, and government stakeholders
- Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness
- Lead community mobilization initiatives and tele-health outreach
- Support the Zero-Dose Learning Agenda (ZDLA)
Role Summary: The Communication/Media Expert will lead the design and execution of impactful communication strategies that drive behavioral change and improve vaccine uptake across Assam. If you have expertise in media, public health communication, and behavioral change strategies — this role is for you.
2. Office Administrator
- Location: Guwahati, Assam
- Tenure: Contractual, until 3rd March 2027
- Remuneration: ₹30,000 per month
- Age Limit: Below 40 years
- Engagement Type: Full-time
Eligibility Criteria:
- M.Com or MBA (Finance) from a recognized university/institution
- Minimum 3 years of experience in office administration/finance, preferably in development or health sectors
- Strong skills in accounting, documentation, MS Office tools
- Familiarity with financial software and budget tracking
- Knowledge of Assamese or other regional languages is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to PMU and Core Technical Committee
- Manage reimbursements, travel bills, invoices, and procurement processes
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers
- Coordinate with vendors and manage office supplies
- Organize meetings, events, field visits, and trainings
- Assist with HR functions such as attendance and onboarding
- Ensure proper filing and digitization of financial records
Role Summary: The Office Administrator will support smooth functioning of the PMU by managing administrative, accounting, and logistical functions, ensuring efficient project execution.
