Assam Polytechnic Admissions Open: The Directorate of Technical Education, Assam in association with the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Assam, has officially released the admission notification for 3-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology courses for the academic session 2025–26. Eligible candidates who are permanent residents of Assam—and those applying under the Central Government Employee (CGE) quota—can now submit their applications online.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Polytechnic Admissions
- Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed HSLC or equivalent examination in a single sitting.
- Mathematics and Science must be compulsory subjects, passed individually in both Theory and Practical.
- Minimum Percentage Required in Mathematics & Science:
- General & Scheduled Caste (SC): 40% average
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 35% average
- PwD candidates: 33% average (as per respective category norms)
- Age Criteria:
- Minimum Age: 16 years as on 31st December 2025
- Maximum Age: No upper age limit
- Resident-ship:
- Candidates must be Indian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Assam.
- Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) must be produced at the time of counseling.
- Candidates who do not have the PRC at the time of counseling may be allowed provisional admission by submitting:
- A copy of the PRC application receipt, and
- An undertaking promising to submit the final PRC within 60 days.
- Important: Failure to submit the PRC within 60 days will result in cancellation of admission.

- Visit www.dte.assam.gov.in
- Click on the link: “Online Application portal for admission into the State Government Polytechnics of Assam for the session 2025-26”
- Complete the registration and upload required documents.
- Pay the application fee of ₹300 (plus applicable bank charges) through the payment link.
- Submit the application after successful payment.
- Documents Required at the Time of Admission:
- Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)
- Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC – with valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate if applicable)
- Valid EWS Certificate
- Proof of CGE Quota (for non-Assam residents applying under Central Government Employee quota)
- Candidates are advised to keep these documents ready in advance for smooth admission processing.

- Last Date for Application Submission: 7th June 2025.
