APSC Recruitment for Junior Development Officer (JDO) – Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian citizen (as per Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India).
- Permanent Resident: Must be a permanent resident of Assam. Valid Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate required as proof of residency.
- Educational Qualification:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university, with one of the following subjects:
- Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Agricultural Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Social Work, Business Administration, Business Management, Geography, or Commerce.
- Preference: Honours graduates.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university, with one of the following subjects:
- Age Limit (as of 01-01-2025):
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 38 years
- Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years (up to 43 years)
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years (up to 41 years)
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 50 years (further relaxation of 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST)
- PwBD: 10 years (irrespective of category)
- For Govt. Employees in T&D Dept: Maximum age of 40 years for employees with at least 5 years of service.
- PwBD Category:
- Eligibility: Candidates must possess a Benchmark Disability (40% or more). PwBD candidates will compete under the general merit as no posts are reserved for them.
- Documents: Required certificate issued by the competent authority.
- For Government Employees:
- Government employees (excluding casual/ad-hoc/contract employees) must upload a certificate from the competent authority confirming their current employment.
- Small Family Norms:
